This top plate is made from an extremely durable form of steel and has many advantages over the aluminum laminated MDF top that it is replacing. - It’s basically indestructible and will not warp even if exposed to varying temperatures and humidity levels. - It is fully tunable and can be shimmed to perfection. It will require tuning upon arrival, but it can be easily leveled using wood, metal or even cardboard shims. In most cases it should be adjusted FLAT using a straight edge, but it can be adjusted to be slightly offset for joining applications.

- Can be used in conjunction with magnetic fences, jigs and fixtures - Smaller drum opening, allowing for easier feeding of small pieces. - Durable enough to be used with a commercial power feeder - Can be polished For the “DIYers” the MDF base from Stockroom Supply is optional. The steel top plate can be placed over an existing top (homemade or from Stockroom) or a base plate built by the customer. Once the base has been built it will be adjusted the same way as described in point 2. Base plate IS included with this model!

If using the Basic drum sander plan, slight adjustments will need to be made to the box to accomodate for this top. (plan is degined for a top which is 1-1/8" thick) We recommend NOT building the box until you recieve the top to ensure correct peices are cut.
